Hillarious (for me) card – Dutch Dare and Bday and Xmas card challenge

Posted by Dianette "Jany" Seda en 20 noviembre 2008

Here is the inside of my card.

You might see this and think I’m crazy but this morning I wasn’t in the mood for serious cards. As many of you know I’m part of the design team of Dutch Dare card makers and the theme this week is to use 3 flowers in your card. Since I saw the Just Bday and Christmas Cards sketch, I just knew I wanted to use that sketch in this card.

This morning, I couldn’t find the image I wanted to use for this challenge. I don’t own that many stamps with flowers because I’m not THAT kind of girl. Not that it is a bad thing, just that growing up I had more than my dose of flowers. Both of my grandmas loved flowers and both had beautiful gardens, flowery courtains, flowers inside the house, flowers in the bed sheets, flowers in vases, did you get it? When I grew up, I stopped liking them. So, I don’t like that classy look anymore.

I KNOW I NEEDED TO USE 3 FLOWERS. There are two physical ones and ONE in the woman’s hair. There are some in the suit case she’s carrying but those are not easy to define. They look like POM POMS.

WHY DID I CHANGE MY MAIN IMAGE? Because it suited my mood. Thank goodness, because once I put one foot out of home… hell broke loose. I’ve been up only 3 1/2 hours and I feel like I’ve been 12 already. I felt like doing a fun card and I had the right stamp for it! Yes! This one was it! Do you have this kind of woman where you live? If not, you need to come to Puerto Rico. lol. There are stores which sells these cotton/spandex [I don’t know why they all look like they’re using two sizes smaller clothes when they use them] sets with bright colors that I bet all arriving to the island can see from the airplane without needing those things to see things closer. The inspiration of colors used came entirely from the papers used. Then they’re all are at least with belly and some fat in other places. They all have this voice! Ohhh my! I just can’t stand it. lol. And then they like to carry stuffed purses everywhere and they walk like “I’m the queen” and then hit you with whatever they’re carrying in those purses instead of asking for you to move so they can carry on. Oh and not to tell that they all do what they want no matter what you think or say. They rule! IF you’re lucky enough they’ll have make up and would have their hair done and not some “rolos” or “dubbies” [sorry for not translating that, I don’t know if people in US use them. But I can explain what it is to you if you need. Better yet, roll to the bottom and I’ll link you to pictures. lol.

I couldn’t find a way to add the third flower (I had the right one for her hair and it was 3D but for the life of me I can’t find where did I store my embellishment. the image have the flower drawn but I wanted a real 3D flower and not the drawn one. If I find it, I’ll add it. AND I had it just the other day over my desk. That happens when I’m storing because I need workspace and not because I actually am cleaning my home. What I’ll be doing this weekend. Hope you kind of liked it. Please leave me a comment of what you think of this one.

    Ha-ha-ha! That’s a fantastic card!😀

I like your papers a lot and how you coloured the image to match them so well.

I was thinking that if you want the flower in her hair to be more “visible”, maybe you can stamp/print the image again and cut out the flower and layer it with 3D foam/tape. Just an idea…

Thank you for playing along this week at JCBC challenge.

    Hugs,
    Mada
