Dutch Dare card and an entry for a challenge blog

Posted by Dianette "Jany" Seda en 11 diciembre 2008

While blog surfing last weekend, I saw a sketch I wanted to try. I didn’t copy where it came from in another place than my board (a white board where I draw the challenge sketches I find. Today I was looking for where it came from at work since I still don’t have internet connection at home that lasts over 5 minutes. OMG! I spent almost an hour but I found that the sketch I followed came from Our Creative Corner! That is a great blog that I just found out through one of the glogs I read regularly. I’ve been adding many blogs to my google reader and I don’t leave messages but I spend a LOT OF TIME ooingg and awwwing over wonderful creations. You never know if I’ve been through your blog except if I leave you a message, right? lol.

Anyway, today it was the perfect ocassion to mix and match what I had over my table with this sketch. Today I didn’t have much time to prepare my card for the Dutch Dare Cardmakers Design Team, so I went to my previously stamped images for one of food/drinks. I had the perfect paper for this image, and it was over my table! While scrapbooking this week (yes, that is why I haven’t been cardmaking!) I placed a bunch of wonderful papers that Stacy sent me, and had this one between them. I looked at my white board for inspiration in how to use it, and there it was! It would just fit all together, didn’t it?

I wanted it to have bling and to look delicate. I didn’t want to overload it with colors since I am one to not like that much the patterns but wanted to be OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE and so I mixed and matched every element into the card as you can see. There are many shapes and colors, still only one THEME! But I wanted this card for a girly person. I wanted it to be delicate since she’s an adult. Still I wanted to carry out to her a bit of tropic (my island is tropical and even in winter we still go out in shorts and sleeveless). I added Shimmerz Paints to only one of the flowers and to some details in the image. How do you see it?

I hope that a week without entries haven’t left you dissapointed with this card. This baby is going out tomorrow with a package of goodies. Hope the person to get it really likes it. I don’t think she’s following my blog and I don’t think she has one. This is for a swap in a forum board. SOOOOO I don’t want to say to whom it is going. Until next Thursday! I hope to get internet running again next week. But I’ll not promise a thing. I know that for 2009 I have some entries already scheduled. Hope you enjoy them.

Supplies:
Stamps: Ice Cream (TAC)
Paper/cardstock: Was given to me by Stacy
Embellishments: Prima Flowers, Shimmerz Paints, Dimensionals, Brad
Inks/coloring: Tombow Bright, Skin Tones Pencils, Gel Pens, Bic Markers

Thanks for reading,

Jany

Great card Jany!! Wow I had no idea how well this set went with the pp! I’m glad you were able to use some of the papers I sent. It’s much more challenging choosing pp for someone else LOL!
